Getting here

The celebrations will be in a place called La Moutière, in a small village called Colonzelle. There isn’t much accommodation in Colonzelle itself, so you’ll probably be staying around this area, most likely in Grignan.

Unless you’re hiring a car, the closest train station to this area is Montélimar. You’ll then need to catch a taxi from Montélimar train station to wherever you’re staying.

By plane + train

The airports you could fly to are Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Geneva or Paris. You would then need to catch a train to Montélimar from these destinations.

From Montélimar, you’ll then need to catch a taxi to wherever you’re staying. If you need any help with this, please give us a shout.

By train

As mentioned, the closest train station is Montélimar. If you’re coming from the UK, you can catch the Eurostar from London to either Paris or Lille. Here are the routes:

London – Paris Gare du Nord (2h20)
Paris Gare du Lyon*  – Valence (2h10)
Valence – Montélimar (1h05)

* you’ll need to change stations in Paris.

or

London – Lille-Europe (1h22)
Lille-Europe – Valence (3h44)
Valence – Montélimar (1h05)

From Montélimar, you’ll then need to catch a taxi to wherever you’re staying. If you need any help with this, please give us a shout.

Hiring a car

If you want to hire a car, you can do that from any of the airports or from quite a few train stations along the way. Here are some of the distances:

Lyon to Colonzelle: 2 hours,
Montpellier to Colonzelle: 2 hours 30 mins
Geneva to Colonzelle: 3 hours 30 minutes.

You can also take the train to Avignon (the closest big town) and hire a car from there – that journey is around 1 hour.

Montélimar and Valence stations have car-hiring facilities too, but the options will be limited. Have a look around and see what you find.
